Overview

Nestled in the outskirts of Marrakech, Amanjena stands as a majestic oasis. Against the backdrop of lush date palms and olive trees, an array of muted pink structures inspired by a sultan's palace give way to dramatic archways, Moorish lanterns, Berber rugs, and mosaic floors. Each spacious accommodation offers the utmost luxury for a truly royal experience.

Beyond its grandeur, guests can explore further on-site experiences through its award-winning spa facilities, golf course, cigar bar, izakaya restaurant with a sushi bar and robata grill — the perfect setting to savor Japanese delicacies — and a Moroccan eatery.

Amanjena, the peaceful paradise, was launched in 2000, marking Aman's African debut. Located near the ancient city of Marrakech and its Unesco-protected Medina, it lies adjacent to the 27-hole Amelkis Championship Golf Course. The inspiration behind Amanjena's design was Marrakech's 'Red City', Al Medina al-Hamra, with its pisé (rammed-earth) buildings and Berber villages that cling to the High Atlas Mountains. This paradise is characterized by a predominantly green color - signifying royalty and abundance - as well as rose-toned Pavilions, Pavilions Bassin, and Pavilions Piscine, all radiating from an ancient bassin (irrigation pool) in the heart of the property. All are built with vaulted ceilings, arched entrances, and garden courtyards displaying luxurious Berber carpets on zellij-tiled floors; several offer private heated pools.

The resort features a 33-meter heated swimming pool overlooking a terrace serving Italian food at signature restaurant Arva; Nama offers fine Japanese cuisine for dinner only; and The Moroccan Restaurant is housed within the elegant reception pavilion providing authentic local cuisine. Two Lounges sit on either side of the reception pavilion offering afternoon tea or postprandial cigars and shisha. Other facilities include a two-story library, tennis courts, boutique, and spa with separate hammams for men and women; Caidal Tent provides a romantic venue for private events amidst an olive grove.

Amanjena is conveniently located 20 minutes from the airport for day trips to Berber villages in High Atlas Mountains or the seaside town Essaouira, two hours away by car.

Highlights

Indulge in the complimentary afternoon tea at Amanjena and enjoy local pastries, Chinese gunpowder green tea, and fresh mint for a sweetened flavor. Get a spa treatment in one of the two hammam suites, complete with their own courtyards. Experience the Moroccan Bloom shower ritual with black olive oil soap to cleanse your skin, a scrub to buff it off, and then hydrate with a rhassoul clay mask topped off with a massage.

Don't miss out on an add-on adventure offered by this Marrakech hotel - take the medina excursion guided tour through tanneries, bakeries, a stork hospital, and the Musée de Marrakech. For ultimate comfort and luxury, stay in one of Amanjena's Maisons equipped with butler service and its own pool. For a romantic dinner, venture down the lantern-lit pathway to the El Caidal tent among the olive groves to experience live Moroccan music.
