Hotel Overview
Six Senses Shaharut is uniquely positioned atop a rugged yet breathtaking mountain plateau near Mitzpe Ramon, offering guests an exciting mix of adventure and relaxation. Guests are welcomed by the spectacular view down below to the unique landscape of the world-famous Dead Sea valley. Particular attention has been given to preserving nature's beauty at Six Senses Shaharut, from ample green spaces between buildings to numerous walking trails throughout.
The resort utilizes its location within Israel's Negev Desert region to create a unique experience for guests. All accommodations have been carefully designed, with special attention paid to integrating local materials into each structure. The cabins, suites, and villas provide expansive views of either the desert or the nearby national park, guaranteeing all guests the utmost privacy while still having access to exclusive services like in-room dining and spa treatments.
History
The original name of this area was Khenan Shacharut, meaning "morning star" in Hebrew. After changing hands multiple times over centuries due to its strategic location along trade routes between Jerusalem and Jericho as well as Gaza, it eventually passed into private ownership in 1919 when Baron Rothschild purchased it for his own personal use. The current iteration of Six Senses Shaharut includes ten suites throughout three distinct villages: Diamond Village (the main building), Sunrise Village (where cabins are situated), and Hilltop Village (comprising villas). This setup differentiates Six Senses from similar resorts in Israel by offering an array of accommodation options that cater specifically to individual desires while still providing opportunities for group getaways thanks to larger communal areas onsite.
