Nestled among the Aravalli Hills in Rajasthan, India, lies Aman-i-Khás, a luxurious wilderness camp with unrivaled access to the Ranthambore National Park. The name 'Aman-i-Khás' is derived from Sanskrit and Hindi/Urdu words, translating to 'peace' and 'special,' respectively, a perfect reflection of its alluring beauty.

At Aman-i-Khás, guests stay in ten luxury Mughal-style tents measuring 108 m2 each. These elegant structures are constructed with canvas and supported by steel frames, with fine cotton decorating the walls and ceilings. Inside the tents, there are three sections for sleeping, bathing, and dressing. In addition, there is an outdoor seating area with a king-size bed flanked by twin writing desks and a bathroom complete with a shower, soaking tub, and toilette. Each tent is air-conditioned/heatable, making guests feel right at home while they explore the region's ancient forts, colorful rural villages, and wildlife, including tigers.

The camp also has three other large tents: the Dining Tent, Lounge Tent, and Spa Tent. The Dining Tent is softly lit with lamps and contains one large dining table as well as multiple smaller ones; here, Indian cuisine can be served along with other Western dishes made from fresh vegetables grown in their onsite organic garden! The Lounge Tent adjoining it offers sofas, armchairs, reading tables, and books giving insight into both the park's history & culture as well as its wildlife. Lastly, the Spa Tent has two treatment areas where guests can enjoy some much-needed relaxation time after exploring all day! Finally, guests can take a dip in their traditional stepwell pool surrounded by an outdoor terrace & trees.

The property remains closed between June - September.

Set among the dappled shade of dhok trees and brushwood, Aman-i-Khás's ten luxurious guest tents offer 108sq m of living and sleeping space, with hardwood and canvas walls, a sun deck, and Mughal-inspired white cotton drapes to divide the rooms. Air conditioning is provided to ensure comfort no matter the weather conditions as well as a ceiling fan and heating for when temperatures drop.

The Aman-i-Khás dining tent is illuminated with soft light and features one large central table surrounded by smaller, inviting tables. Cuisine from both India and the West is served here, with most of the vegetables and herbs being handpicked from the camp's organic garden. At nighttime, guests gather around the firepit - a cozy spot for evening drinks that invites conversation and camaraderie.

Experience the blissful tranquility of Aman-i-Khás, a luxurious camp located in Northern India. Enjoy their onsite amenities and pamper yourself with their Lounge Tent, Step Well Pool, and Heated Spa Tent. Relaxation begins in the Lounge Tent, which is fully furnished with banquettes, reading tables, and chairs and offers a wide selection of coffee-table books, novels, magazines, and board games, plus CDs and personal CD players; even local handicrafts are available for purchase. Escape to a world of serenity at their Step Well Pool modeled on ancient stepwells traditional to the area. Surrounded by a sunny terrace with loungers and sheltered by a grove of trees, you can truly feel like you are in paradise. Finally, be sure not to miss out on the Heated Spa tent with two treatment areas, each containing twin massage tables surrounding a small fountain. Enjoy an array of activities and excursions when you visit Aman-i-Khás! Feel the thrill of wildlife safaris, led by national park-approved guides, in open-top Jeeps. Both full-day (12 hours) and half-day (6 hours) safaris are available, providing hours of game viewing across the numerous zones of the national park. Home to tigers, leopards, jungle cats, hyenas, and more than 350 species of bird, pre-booking is essential for this experience. Snacks and drinks are provided.

For a historical experience, take a tour around Ranthambore Fort - within the grounds of the National Park - constructed between 944 and 1110 AD with 7km of ramparts. Individual tours of this area can be arranged upon request. Also, visit the largely forgotten Old City located within the outer perimeter walls of the fort. Here visitors can ride camels and explore eclectic shops along its narrow main thoroughfare before making a stop at the Elephant Temple, which pays homage to both Hindu and Jain Gods.

Next is camel safaris; take a leisurely paced two-hour ride through the countryside around Aman-i-Khás as well as explore the flora, and fauna on nature walks with a naturalist in tiger-free territories. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a half-day excursion to Banas riverbed, which becomes a birdwatcher's paradise during the dry season, or trek up Khandar fort summit located on top of a hill 300 meters above plain that's littered with fascinating ruins such as palaces, temples and step wells while tucking into lunch in a magical location!
