History
Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain opened its doors in 2004 as part of the larger Six Senses Resorts & Spa group that has properties all over the Asia-Pacific, from India to Thailand to Vietnam. It was originally built on land that had once been owned by Emperor Qianlong during China's Qing dynasty in the 1750s, who declared it his "royal vacation site" due to its beauty and natural attractions. The hotel (formerly known as Liyuan Resort) quickly gained fame throughout China after opening due to its location at one of China's most beautiful destinations, surrounded by mountains and rivers that create both a peaceful environment ideal for relaxation, but also numerous opportunities for exciting activities such as hiking or white water rafting down nearby rapids!
