Dark wood elements mesh with principles of feng shui to establish a serene setting, while contemporary accents like a neon pink light that illuminates through a wall next to a bathtub add a touch of modernity.

The spa's interior is adorned with dark wood and subtle, low lighting, creating an intimate atmosphere. Splashes of color are introduced through vases of fresh flowers and neon pink backlights that brighten the carved wooden privacy screens. While the rest of the hotel is bathed in light, the spa's lobby provides a quiet and darker reprieve.

Highlights

From the moment guests step into the spa, they are invited to unwind before and after their treatments with a cup of seasonal tea, often locally harvested, accompanied by fresh fruit and granola-like biscotti. The lobby lounge seating is plush and inviting, evoking the charm of a Southeast Asian holiday house.

All the treatments offered at the Hangzhou spa were designed exclusively for the hotel. One of the most indulgent services is the Dragon Well Tea and Jade Spring Ritual, which includes a soak in the essence of 60,000 tea leaves — equivalent to two pounds of longjing tea, a local specialty from the West Lake area.

Booking and Treatments

To secure an appointment at this sanctuary of relaxation, it is recommended to call ahead of your stay. However, if you prefer to arrange your visit upon your arrival, you can check the available time slots at the hotel. To fully enjoy the spa experience, arrive early and savor freshly brewed seasonal tea, fruit, and granola-like biscuits.

While there are no specific couples treatments on the menu, most services can be performed side by side in any of the spacious treatment rooms. Massages and facials are particularly well-suited for tandem sessions.

The spa offers eight different massage options, each available in 60- and 90-minute increments. The Jet Lag Retreat massage is ideal for guests who've just arrived, using eucalyptus inhalation and spinal pressure to stimulate skin and circulation and reset the body clock. A reflexology massage is perfect for relaxation after a day of sightseeing, aimed at relieving tension, improving circulation, and unblocking energy.

The Rooms

Inspired by ancient Chinese palaces, the dimly lit treatment rooms provide a grand experience. Traditional round doors lead to a personal foyer in the elabortately designed rooms. Each of the nine treatment rooms can accommodate couples and features its own shower and steam room. Some rooms also include sunken tubs, adding another layer of luxury to your spa experience at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake.
